Alex Zanardi has today secured his 12th world title-winning the time trial event at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships at Emmen.
Zanardi stepped away from racing commitments after the Rolex 24 Hours in order to prepare for the World Championships and that decision has clearly paid off.
He could make it a hard-won 13 on Sunday with the Road Race world crown up for grabs.
