Breukers Joins MadPanda For 2021 GT World Challenge Europe

Rik Breukers has joined Madpanda Motorsport for the full Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season to race alongside Ezequiel Companc in the team’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in Silver Cup in both the Endurance and Sprint Cups.

Rik Breukers, now 22, already has plenty of endurance racing success to his name with back to back GTD wins at the Rolex 24 Hours in 2018 ad 2019, and the Florida double in 2019, backing up the Daytona win with victory too in GTD at Sebring. The young Dutchman also has wins at the 24 Hours of Dubai and Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East to his name plus a Silver Cup podium at the Total 24 Hours of Spa, and a win at the TCR Spa 500 touring car endurance race.

He’ll share the car with team principal and reigning Silver Cup Champion Ezequiel Companc, the Argentinean also guiding his team to the teams’ class Championship.

Ezequiel Companc, team principal and driver: “I’ve known Rik for a number of years and our recent testing sessions have shown his experience and professionalism, so I’m confident that he’s the right fit for the team. The chemistry between us is already very strong and I’m looking forward to working with him. Our goal this year is to retain the combined Silver Cup title and do well in Sprint and Endurance individually, and we’ve been working hard over the off-season to build on what we learned last year. We’re ready to begin our title defence this weekend.”

Rik Breukers, driver: “I am very happy to join Madpanda Motorsport, and extremely grateful to get this opportunity. The team has proven itself last year to be very competitive and this year we only have one goal, and that is to win! I can’t wait for the season to start at Monza.”
