Champion Show Off Their Pikes Peak Porsche

Romain Dumas set to tackle Time Attack 1 class with modified 911 GT2 RS

Champion Racing have released the first pictures of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport which will bring the 2005 Le Mans 24 Hours winning team back to racing.

The Porsche, pedalled by multiple Pikes Peak overall winner and record holder Romain Dumas, will contest the 2021 Pikes Peak International Hillclimb on 27 June.

As can be clearly seen the Porsche has been heavily modified for the Time Attack 1 class effort with a rather prominent additional rear wing and front splitter.

The Porsche is adorned with an updated version of the classic 1995 Champion colour scheme designed then and updated for the 2021 version by Dave Schnorr.

Champion’s Pikes Peak effort is the first competitive outing for the team since the end of Audi’s factory ALMS programme in 2008 with the R10 TDI. It will also be the first with a second generation of the Maraj family at the helm after founder Dave Maraj died in 2018. His son Mitra will head up the effort.
