Iron Lynx have confirmed a two-car entry in the Mugello round of the Campionato Italiano GT Endurance, to take place over the weekend of 3 and 4 July.
The team, which last raced in the series in 2019, will enter two Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020s at Mugello, making this the ninth racing series in which the team will compete during 2021 – the others being the Le Mans 24h, FIA World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series, GT World Challenge Europe, Michelin Le Mans Cup, Ferrari Challenge Europe and both Italian and ADAC Formula 4.
The three-hour event at Mugello will see two cars from Iron Lynx entered in the AM class – the #60 car driven by Claudio Schiavoni, Andrea Piccini and Rino Mastronardi. The #83 Iron Dames car will feature Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy and a new driver for the team – 2018 British GT Champion Flick Haigh.
Iron Lynx team principal and driver, Andrea Piccini, commented: “We exist to race – and could not resist the lure of Mugello – one of the world’s most iconic and challenging circuits. By entering the Campionato Italiano GT Endurance next weekend, our intention, as always, is to excel and challenge for victory.”
2018 British GT Champion Flick Haigh becomes the eighth ‘Iron Dame’ racer after Rahal Frey, Michelle Gatting, Manuela Gostner, Deborah Mayer, Katherine Legge, Doriane Pin and Sarah Bovy
