Max & Shaun Lynn Confirmed For 2022 Le Mans Cup With United Autosports

Father and son combo Shaun and Max Lynn will join the United Autosports Michelin Le Mans Cup team for the 2022 season.

The pair will be racing for United Autosports in one of their Ligier JS P320 LMP3 cars as Shaun returns to the team for his first full season since 2017. Max will be making his United Autosports and LMP3 debut when the 2022 season gets underway at Paul Ricard in April.

Shaun last raced with United Autosports in the 2020 Road to Le Mans event but has raced for the team for a number of years in LMP3 machinery. Max will be racing an LMP3 car for the first time but has previously raced as part of the Caterham Academy and has taken part in historic racing alongside Shaun.

Max then becomes the third member of the Lynn family to race for the team after his elder brother Alex was part of the team’s LMP2 effort at the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours.

Shaun and Max are the first duo to be confirmed for United Autosports’ 2022 Le Mans Cup season, which begins with the official Prologue on 13 April at Paul Ricard, France.

Shaun Lynn: “I am so excited to race in the Michelin Le Mans Cup again with my son Max and with United Autosports. It will be a dream come true to have this experience together with such a professional team with whom I have raced with for the last five years.”

Max Lynn: “I have watched my father and brother race for United Autosports in recent years and I am very excited to have the opportunity to race for such an incredible team and race with my father. I’m looking forward to the challenge that the Michelin Le Mans Cup will bring this season and I can’t wait to get started.”

Zak Brown “I’m delighted Shaun will be returning to the team and this time racing alongside Max. I think they will be a great pairing as we head into our sixth season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.”

Richard Dean “I’m pleased to be able to welcome Shaun back to the team for the 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup. It will also be a pleasure to have Max join us for the season as well, as he moves into LMP3 racing alongside his father. They both went testing with us last month so Shaun could get used to being back in an LMP3 car and so Max could get his first taste of an LMP3 car. I’m excited to see how they get on and of course we love having them both as part of the team.”
