Robert Kubica will join High Class Racing f0r the double-header of FIA WEC races in late October and early November.
The 2021 European Le Mans Series Champion (with Team WRT) and former Formula 1 driver will join Anders Fjordbach and Dennis Andersen behind the wheel of the #20 Oreca 07-Gibson for the final two rounds of the 2021 FIA WEC.
Kubica, currently contracted by Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 team as reserve driver, replaces Jan Magnussen, who has other clashing racing commitments. Kubica returns to High Class after joining the team in January for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
He’ll race in both the six-hour race in Bahrain on 30 October and an eight-hour season finale on the following weekend (6 November)
Kubica said: “After the ELMS Championship and of course participation in Le Mans 24h, I’m happy to join High Class Racing for last rounds of the WEC in Bahrain so of course I know the team and my teammates Anders and Dennis and we’ll try to have better luck than we had in Daytona. We’ll try to enjoy and achieve as best results as possible in those two rounds and I hope to help them to achieve the target. I’m looking forward to rejoining the team again for the second time this year and yeah, let’s hope to achieve something good racing in ProAm class, which is a bit different to what I was doing this year in ELMS and Le Mans I think is always a good opportunity and I would like to use it to give my best one more time“.
