JP Motorsport has announced plans for a two-car Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS programme for 2022, with full-season McLaren 720S GT3s, and the possibility of adding a third car.
The German squad have competed variously in International GT Open and DTM and made their GT World Challenge series debut at the Nürburgring in 2020 as a warm-up for the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.
They returned for a one-off appearance in 2021, tackling the Circuit Paul Ricard 1000kms.
Their earlier appearances came with Mercedes-AMG before switching to the McLaren this year, team principal Patryk Krupinski and lead driver Christian Klien were ever-present behind the wheel.
The team will contest both the Sprint and Endurance Cups with its line-up once again be led by former F1 racer Klien.
“We have already competed in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS in 2020 and 2021 and were very impressed by the professional environment, the organisation and of course the races that demand everything from every team,” commented team principal Krupinski.
Participation in the Pro, Pro-Am or the new Gold Cup categories are all possible for the car featuring Klien.
