Nielsen Racing finished 2021 as the Michelin Le Mans Cup Champions after an excellent season from long-standing pairing Tony Wells and Colin Noble.
And they’ll start the 2022 season looking to regain another title, with confirmation of a two-car team entry in the 2022 Asian Le Mans Series in February, the Series again taking the short-format route to overcome the challenges of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.
The UK-based squad took the title in 2020, launching them to an automatic invitation to the 2020 Le Mans 24 Hours in the LMP2 class, a race the team finished inside the overall top 30 on their debut.
That saw the team get a taste of the next step on the ladder and, after again testing an LMP2 ORECA post season, the team are plotting a full-season in the class in both Asian Le Mans and European Le Mans alongside a continuation of their LMP3 programme.
DSC believes the full package is in place to make it happen and then we’ll see confirmation of the LMP2 entry for Asian Le Mans shortly with a single Oreca 07 alongside a single Ligier LMP3 entry.
One other change for the team after their tenth anniversary season in 2021 will be a new livery after their gold and white anniversary scheme was retired.
