Paul Holton has confirmed that the Crucial Motorsports effort that he heads up will enter the 2022 Rolex 24 at Daytona with their ex Compass Racing Mclaren 720S GT3 and that the team is set to contest the four IMSA enduros in 2022.
The team was present at this weeks two-day Daytona test with the Mclaren and are now set to add a run at the Rolex 24 Hours to their first enduro outing at the Indianapolis 8 Hours earlier this year in the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
Whilst drivers have not so far been revealed DSC understands that the current plan is for the effort to contest the GTD class at Daytona rather than GTD Pro.
The Mclaren has shown pace at Daytona before, scoring a pole position in GTD at the track for the July 2020 IMSA Sprint Cup meeting with Holton’s then Compass Racing team-mate Corey Fergus scoring the pole lap.
