The crowd-pleasing “White Angel” Viper was the first car to register for the 2022 24 Hours of the Nürburgring – the V10 engined beast again entered in the ‘AT’ class for alternatively fuelled vehicles.
The team plan to field an experienced driver line-up anchored by two-time ADAC GT Masters Champion Sebastian Asch. Team boss Bernd Albrecht will also drive, joined by long-distance and Nordschleife specialists Andreas Sczepansky and Kurt Ecke. Both have competed in the SP7 and SP9 classes in the 24-hour race in previous years and, as Porsche specialists, are regularly behind the wheel in cup races.
The team are targeting not only on-track success but also some very worthwhile charitable aims with donations being collected for the Fly&Help foundation, which aims to build at least one school in Togo.
Bernd Albrecht: “The anniversary of the 24-hour race will be a very special event, and we are proud to be the first team to have the Viper on the entry list again.
“Our goal is to collect donations for at least one more school in Togo for Fly&Help and hope for a lot of support. For our volunteer team, the preparatory work is already in full swing. We are counting the days until we go back to the green hell of the Nordschleife.”
After the 24-hour race last year, “Fly&Help” was able to set up a primary school in Brazil, one of over 500 schools made possible by the foundation around the world.
The “White Angel” Viper of vehicle owner Manfred Sattler is currently undergoing a comprehensive overhaul at Vulkan Racing in Mayen in order to see the GT3-spec Viper fighting fit for the 24 Hours.
Teams can now register up until the final entry deadline on May 9th, with a maximum of 170 vehicles permitted to start the race.
