NTe Sport Were A No Show At Long Beach, Here’s Why!

The NTe Sport GTD class Lamborghini was a no-show at the weekend’s Acura Grand Prix at Long Beach after an incident en route for the team’s hauler.

Here’s the full story in all it’s expensive and disappointing detail!

“For those still wondering about our tire-blowout on our transporter that prevented us from running at Long Beach, it happened on Sunday 290 miles into the 1,500-mile drive from Dallas, TX to Long Beach, CA. While the truck almost rolled, our driver was able to park it without any contact with any other vehicles. The tire took out the radiator, DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) components, and the wiring harness and also damaged the suspension.

“We had to get towed 80 miles back towards Dallas and immediately sought out to get parts and repairs, while calling IMSA teams and local transportation options. As most people know, obtaining parts or machinery is incredibly difficult post-pandemic, and solutions that would be easy fixes in normal times were not available to us.

“We explored every option and had no way to get parts or get repairs done in time to make it into the paddock before the load in deadline. Being a street course, there’s no way to enter once the activities begin, and we only had a 48 hour window following the crash to get parts, repairs, and cross half the country to get to the circuit.

“After $13,000 in damages, the truck is still undergoing repairs presently.”
