Viscaal in at ARC Bratislava, Chaves at TF Sport

The latest entry list for next month’s 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps, round 2 of the 2022 FIA WEC sees a number of changes from the opening race line-up at Sebring.

As planned the Belgian round set the return to competition of the #86 GR Racing Porsche which missed Sebring due to business commitments linked to the Ukraine crisis for team owner Mike Wainwright. The teams car though did see service as a late replacement for the damaged Team Project 1 entry.

As previously confirmed Pipo Derani replaces Ryan Briscoe at Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus in the #708 SCG 007 LMH.

Alex Lynn (#23 United Autosports) and Sebastien Bourdais (#10 Vector Sport) start their WEC campaigns after missing Sebring with clashing IMSA commitments. Alex Brundle will also make his 2022 debut after missing Sebring following a positive test for COVID-19.

There are two further changes to the entry:

In LMP2 the #44 ARC Bratislava squad sees the arrival of young Dutch star Bent Viscaal, he replaces Sebring starter Mathias Beche in the Slovakian-entered team, the confirmation coming just a couple of days after Viscaal’s sportscar racing debut when he clinched second place at Paul Ricard alongside Sophia Floersch in an Algarve Pro Racing Oreca.

The 22 year-old Dutch driver has previously been a Championship runner-up in the Spanish F3 series and a race winner in the ultra-competitive FIA F3 championship

TF Sport meanwhile see a change which DSC understands s set to mark a revised line-up for the remainder of the 2022 FIA WEC, Henrique Chaves will henceforth do double duty for the team in both the WEC and ELMS and will join Ben Keating and Marco Sorensen in the #33 GTE AM class Aston Martin, replacing Florian Latorre who raced at Sebring, the team scoring second place in Florida.

The Portuguese driver was crowned International GT Open champion in 2020 and followed that up with a GT World Challenge title last year.
