The FIA GT World Cup around Macau’s Guia street circuit has been cancelled again for 2022.
The FIA World Motor Sport Council confirmed the cancellation, and that of the FIA Formula 3 World Cup and the FIA WTCR at Macau in the post-meeting memorandum on Wednesday evening.
The decision, “Due to the ongoing COVID-19 quarantine restrictions and associated logistical challenges in Asia.” sees the race now having been cancelled for three consecutive years.
As in 2020 and 2021, the meeting is still set to take place, once again featuring a grid of Chinese, Hong Kong and Macanese entrants only.
