The new-for 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 992) will make its racing debut on Saturday in NLS 7 the 54th ZEWOTHERM ADAC Barbarossapreis in the hands of Manthey Racing.
Julien Andlauer and Fred Makowiecki are entrusted with the #911 entry which features in the SPX class for non-homologated machines.
It is the latest new generation GT3 car to see race action in the class and follows in the footsteps of earlier Porsche machinery in GT3 and ‘Cup’, BMW’s M4 in GT3 and GT4 versions, Aston Martin’s Vantage AMR GT3, Mercedes AMG’s GT3 and various versions of Audi’s R8 LMS platform.
Whilst the car will run in competitive trim it will not be permitted to take up a qualifying position ahead of the SP9 field.
