Le Mans Endurance Management (LMEM) and the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve have extended the agreement for the 4 Hours of Portimao to remain as the season finale of the European Le Mans Series until the end of the 2025 season.
It’s yet another major milestone for the facility, a remarkable recovery from near financial ruin in the wake of the financial crash in 2008/9.
With the circuit impressing major Championships 2 wheels and four, including the F1 World Championship and the returning FIA WEC in 2023 the Portuguese venue is set to a familiar venue for racers, racegoers and viewers for years to come.
Since 2017 the 4 Hours of Portimao has been a regular feature for the ELMS as the host circuit for the season finale, replacing Estoril which served as the final race on the calendar for the previous two seasons.
Frédéric Lequien, CEO Le Mans Endurance Management, said: “We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with the management here at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve for the ELMS package to return to Portimao for the next three seasons.I would like to extend my thanks to CEO Paulo Pinheiro and his team for providing us with a great venue to host the ELMS.”

The 2023 4 Hours of Portimao will be held on Sunday 22 October and is the final race of the six round 2023 ELMS season.
