Porsche Re-Confirm Plans To Release Further Customer 963s In 2024

After media speculation over potential delay

Porsche Motorsport has re-iterated its commitment to the release of a further four customer Porsche 963 Hypercar/ GTPs for the 2024 season.

The confirmation comes in the wake of media comment elsewhere that suggested further deliveries would be delayed until 2025.

The first four customer cars are currently set for delivery from April this year to JDC Miller (IMSA), JOTA (FIA WEC) and Proton Competition (one apiece in both). These cars are in addition to the two Penske-operated factory cars in each Championship.

Both JOTA and Proton have active plans to double up their commitments whilst DSC is aware of multiple other teams targeting a move into the new class with Porsche in both Championships.

With other marques currently having either made the decision to delay customer programmes until 2025, or in some cases remaining on the cusp of doing so, Porsche’s policy is a key part of the potential expansion of the two parallel formulae.
