Barwell Motorsport will be returning to the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup this year, with a Black Bull Scotch Whisky-liveried Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for the Pro-Am Cup category.
The British outfit, which won the 2021 Pro-Am championship, has signed three drivers that have all competed with the team in British GT during recent seasons: Rob Collard, Dennis Lind, and Adam Balon.
Collard, who is well known for his successes during his 20-year BTCC career, has previously been a part of Barwell’s European programmes. He claimed a Pro-Am win at Spa in 2020 along with third in that season’s Endurance points standings.
Lind meanwhile, was part of Barwell’s outright race-winning crew in the 2019 Creventic 24H Series Barcelona 24 Hours.
For Balon though, this campaign will be his first in international GT3 racing. His debut on the European GT3 stage will come at the opening round in Monza next month. Unfortunately, he will not be with the team for the full-season, as business commitments will force him to miss the Spa 24 Hours. The team is currently seeking a Bronze-graded driver to step in for Balon for the race as a result.
“I’m delighted that we will be returning to World Challenge Europe with such a strong driver line-up. Adam, Rob and Dennis have all won some massive races with Barwell so I don’t see any reason that we shouldn’t be aiming for the title,” says Mark Lemmer, Barwell Motorsport’s team principal.
