Ferrari is starting the process this morning of switching the (Dallara-built) chassis on the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 499P.
The change comes after the accident on Sunday morning that befell James Calado, the British driver losing the car on cold tyres whilst trying to pass GTE traffic at Turn 1 on his out lap.
The car missed the remainder of the running on Sunday with the team taking most of yesterday to assess the chassis and make all the necessary repairs.
The team has now determined that as a precaution, the most sensible course of action is to switch the chassis to a spare they have on site.
