After a seven year break, the Sepang 12 Hours returns today, bringing international endurance racing back to South East Asia after a three year absence. For the 2023 event the race will be run over eight hours.
A 13-car field made solely of teams from the Asia Pacific region, from China to Australia, sees both local and international pilots behind the wheel. The grid is a mixture of professional racing drivers, who have won everything from the Nurburgring 24 Hours, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Bathurst 12 Hours, to young talent and gentleman drivers. Each entry has a mandatory bronze-ranked driver.
The grid sees machinery from seven different GT3 manufacturers – Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW, Audi, Aston Martin, Mercedes Benz and Ferrari.
Davide de Gobbi, Owner and General Manager of Top Speed:
We are excited to not only bring endurance racing back to South East Asia, but an iconic event like the Sepang 12 Hours. To have all teams on the grid from Asia Pacific, with such a diverse range of driving talent and machinery, plus an enthusiastic response from the local media, we are looking forward to the race on Saturday!
