Following a successful 12-hour event at Sepang last month, race organiser Top Speed is set to run an eight-hour race at the Shanghai International Circuit in China later this year, the first significant international endurance race in the country since the start of the pandemic.
The event will welcome teams from the region and around the world to the Shanghai International Circuit on October 2nd to 4th. In collaboration with the local Jiading District authorities to establish a recognized and professional endurance IP of Shanghai, the Shanghai 8H will run during ‘Golden Week’ and see Pro and Am competitors take part in an eight hour race, with anything from GT3s to touring cars eligible.
The event will follow the same format as the Sepang 12 Hours and be live streamed in both English and Chinese, for free, worldwide.
“We know how important motorsport is in China and are excited to bring international endurance racing back to the country,” said Davide de Gobbi, general manager of Top Speed.
“We have made sure the timing of the event will suit perfectly for local teams to allow maximum participation and will follow the successful formula of the recent Sepang 12 Hours.
