HRT World Challenge Europe Driver Line-Up Confirmed

The Haupt Racing Team has confirmed its driver line-up for the 2023 World Challenge Europe season. The Mercedes customer team will compete with a pair of AMG GT3 EVOs, one for the Silver Cup and another for the Bronze Cup.

Its Bronze Cup #79 Mercedes-AMG GT3 will see team owner Hubert Haupt and Sébastien Baud share the wheel for the full campaign. In the Endurance Cup races, which includes the 24 Hours of Spa, the duo will be joined by former F2 driver and HRT DTM racer Arjun Maini. The Bronze Cup is held at three GT World Challenge Europe sprint events in addition to the Endurance Cup rounds in 2023.

In the sister car with the starting number #77, Frank Bird and the new Mercedes-AMG junior driver Jordan Love will contest the entire Sprint Cup season in the Silver Cup. The British-Australian duo already competed for HRT last season and will now battle for championship points in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe.

“For the new season, everyone is highly motivated to compete again for the championship in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe,” Haupt says. “We have been able to bring together a good line-up, which is capable of winning. Our goal, of course, is to be at the top in the end.”

This World Challenge effort adds to HRT’s busy 2023 schedule with Mercedes-AMG. This year the team will also run compete in DTM, the NLS, Nürburgring 24 Hours and for the first time, in ADAC GT Masters.

The opening round of this year’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe season will take place in Monza, Italy, from April 22 to 23. The final event will be the weekend of October 14-15 on the dune circuit at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
