4H Le Castellet: Thursday Paddock Notes

News and notes from the Paul Ricard paddock on ELMS test day...

Inter Europol are fielding the same Oreca chassis at this weekend’s 4 Hours of Paul Ricard that contested last weekend’s 6 Hours of Monza, with a new Oreca set to be delivered to the Polish team in time for the 6 Hours of Fuji in September.

The car that completed the LMP2 class win at Le Mans has been retired and is retained by the team of display.

Confirmation of the final result of the race is still awaited.

Nielsen In Blue

Nielsen Racing are fielding a third different LMP2 livery this season. Their #24 Oreca 07 started the season with a Gold-based nordic symbol livery, following that with a gold-based Le Mans centenary tribute scheme.

For Paul Ricard the #24 is sporting a return to the nordic symbol theme, but this time with a dark blue base. Happily the new livery marks the return to the car of the symbol remembering Rodrigo Sales’ late lamented Husky ‘Shadow’.

For Vinny

Also featured on the car is a simple message – “For Vinny” remembering long-time Nielsen crew-member Vinny who passed away recently after a short illness.

Delage Blue Continues

Another blue-based livery that will continue for the remainder of the season in the ‘Delage’ scheme the first graced the IDEC Sport Oreca at Le Mans and will continue for the season, IDEC Sport’s partnership with the revived French brand continuing, now a road going ‘Hypercar’ builder after decades of absence from production.

Lüthen For Eurointernational

Eurointernational have confirmed the Mathias Lüthen will join Glenn van Berlo in their #10 LMP3 Ligier JS P320, the German businessman set to make his ELMS debut after much seat time in LMP3 in Le Mans Cup, Asian LMS and Prototype Cup Germany where he has scored a race win and several podium finishes.
