Optimum Motorsport’s British GT duo of Mark Radcliffe and Rob Bell are set to continue racing together over the winter as part of the team’s Asian Le Mans Series GT programme. The pair will be joined by Ollie Millroy, the 2022 Asian Le Mans GT champion, who completes the team’s driver crew for the campaign.
Bell and Millroy are no strangers to the championship, as both took part in the four-race, two-weekend contest earlier this year. The latter also steps in with the series’ 2022 GT title under his belt, winning class honours in Optimum Motorsport-run Inception Racing’s McLaren 720S GT3.
Radcliffe is new to the Asian Le Mans Series but has plenty of experience behind the wheel of a GT car to draw from. He secured multiple podiums and a race win in his debut racing season in GT3 machinery this year with Optimum in British GT.
The trio will compete as part of the highly competitive Asian Le Mans GT class for this season, which features 23 cars from eight manufacturers. Optimim hopes to claim the class title and receive a 24 Hours of Le Mans invitation.
In addition to revealing its driver line-up for the season, Optimum has also shown off the stunning purple and black livery its #27 McLaren 720S GT3 EVO will race with (featured).
The 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series kickstarts with a double-header at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia on 2-3 December before taking a short hiatus over the Christmas period. The series resumes on the first weekend of February with a sole four-hour race at Dubai Autodrome before heading South to Abu Dhabi for the final two rounds at the Yas Marina Circuit.
