The #92 Kellymoss with Riley GTD class Porsche 911 GT3 R 992 is undergoing a chassis switch between the Roar weekend and the Rolex 24 Hours meeting proper which begins on Wednesday.
The team was spotted by DSC this morning, hard at work on a full rebuild for the #92 around a replacement shell, which coincidentally is the team’s #91 Porsche 911 GT3 R 992 which was withdrawn from the entry list for the Rolex 24 late last year.
The work being undertaken by the team follows David Brule’s hard hit to the driver’s left barriers on the exit of pit lane during the opening moments of yesterday afternoon’s GTD Qualifying session. The head-on impact with the Armco severely damaged the Porsche’s front end and caused the session to be red-flagged.
The other car in the field which failed to set a time in Qualifying, Proton Competition’s #5 Porsche 963, is also being worked on ahead of the Rolex 24 weekend.
Neel Jani had an off at the Dog-leg before the West Horseshoe during the final Roar practice session, which damaged the front and rear of the car ahead of Qualifying.

Jani was able to limp back to the pit lane after hitting the barriers, but the car was immediately taken behind the wall for repairs and subsequently missed Qualifying. Thankfully damage to the Porsche is believed to be principally cosmetic.
It will be ready to hit the track on Thursday when the WeatherTech cars hit the track for Free Practice 1.
