The entry list for the UAE leg of the 2023/24 Asian Le Mans Series season has been revealed, with 42 entries across the three classes, with 19 prototypes and 23 GT3s.
Within the entry list, there are a handful of key changes. Following on from the two races in Malaysia last year, the three UAE races will feature two new teams to the Asian Le Mans Series.
The first comes in LMP3, with Australian team GG Classic Cars set to debut its Ligier JS P320 with Fraser Ross and George Nakas behind the wheel.
The second is in the GT class, with Dubai-based Dragon Racing set to field one of its new pair of Ferrari 296 GT3s. Its driver line-up is headlined by Rui Andrade, who made his LMP2 debut in the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series. He will be joined by Nicola Marinangeli and Marco Pulcini.
There will also be two additional LMP2 entries from existing teams, Nielsen Racing and COOL Racing. The #34 Nielsen Racing LMP2 ORECA 07 will be shared by Blake McDonald, Patrick Liddy and Matt Bell. The #47 COOL Racing LMP2 ORECA 07 will be raced by Alexandre Coigny, Vlad Lomko and Lorenzo Fluxa.
There will also be a number of driver changes. HERTZ Team JOTA FIA WEC driver Will Stevens will make his Asian Le Mans Series debut in the #24 Nielsen Racing LMP2 for the 4 Hours of Dubai, standing in for Ferdinand Habsburg, who is unable to attend the race in Dubai due to his ongoing preparations for the 2024 FIA WEC season with Alpine.
Habsburg will however rejoin the team for the final two races of the season at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Elsewhere Laurin Heinrich and Jordan Love will both make their Asian Le Mans Series debuts too, racing in the GT class with Herberth Motorsport and Triple Eight respectfully.
Of the teams that competed at Sepang, there is one team that hasn’t entered a car for the final three races, Craft Bamboo.
That withdrawal has seen Anthony Liu switch from Craft Bamboo to the #7 Almanar Racing by Getspeed entry. He replaces Martin Konrad, who moves to the sister #9 AMG.
The first of the three UAE races is set to take place on Sunday February 4th at the Dubai Autodrome.
