Sainteloc Shuffles
Sainteloc Racing have added Bronze-rated Florian Scholze to their #43 Audi lineup as the car gets a second reshuffle after Dubai.
Scholze replaces Bihuang Zhou who returns home for Chinese New Year, Patrice Evrard returns after missing Dubai to attend the birth of a new family member. Sean Gelael therefore will not race at the final two races in Yas Marina.
Simmenauer Joins Duqueine
Duqueine Team meanwhile see Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer replace Oliver Rasmussen for the final double-header, the Frenchman making his LMP2 debut this weekend, the 2022 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Silver Cup Champion is set to join the team for the full 2024 ELMS season in the #30 Oreca too.
Repairs Completed
Repairs to damage suffered at Dubai have been completed by Viper Niza Racing (left rear corner), GetSpeed (front right corner) and D’Station Racing (front left corner). All three cars are good to go for the weekend’s action.
Repairs meanwhile are near complete for the #47 Cool Racing Oreca after Alexandre Coigny’s T2 misfortune in Dubai. The switch to a spare chassis was complete by 22:30 last night with the team completing the rebuild this morning.
Huber Porsche
Huber Racing’s #18 Porsche has had a significant wash and brush-up as it is prepped for on-track action and the teams Asian Le Mans Series debut with Dorian Boccolacci, Jannes Fittje and Stanislav Minsky.
Project 1’s #56 BMW Returns
Project 1 meanwhile have their second BMW M4 GT3 back in the garage (pictured top) after missing on-track action at Dubai and is on the provisional entry list albeit with a trio of TBAs.
The car is looking set to take part in private testing on Thursday, believed to be at the core of a driver test for GT World Challenge Europe with Jake Dennis believed to be on-site to set target lap times.
The #56 though was confirmed yesterday evening to DSC as being unable to race this weekend with no Bronze-ranked driver available to the team (they have the other two required drivers on-site) – a 42 car grid therefore looks likely for the season finale double-header.
