The GT World Challenge Europe and GT4 European Series season finales at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit have been moved back by one week to 29th/30th November 2024, the SRO has revealed.
Initially scheduled for 22nd/23rd November 2024, the extra week will give teams further time to prepare for the season’s climax and reduce pressure on freight at the end of the season.
Sea freighting cars to race meetings in the Middle East has become especially tricky in 2024 due to ongoing geopolitical tensions disrupting regular shipping lines through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea. Earlier this year the 24H Series Dubai 24 Hours and FIA WEC Qatar Prologue were both affected by delays.
The races for the Endurance Cup and GT4 European Series on the streets of Jeddah are new for this year. They were first announced during Stephane Ratel’s annual CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Press Conference last summer.
GT World Challenge Europe will run a six-hour contest on the high-speed circuit, placing the event behind only the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in terms of distance. The GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club will contest its usual pair of one-hour races.
The date change means the Endurance Cup race will run on Saturday 30th November.
Further details of the Jeddah event will be announced in the coming months.
