Iron Dames Pull Out Of Spa 24 Hours

In wake of Watkins Glen accident for Sarah Bovy

The Iron Dames effort for the 2024 Crowdstrike Spa 24 Hours has been withdrawn this morning in the wake of a heavy accident at Watkins Glen on Sunday that saw the team’s Bronze driver Sarah Bovy taken to hospital for observation and tests.

The team statement confirms that Sarah “is doing fine, and that is what matters, but we have decided to withdraw from the race to allow her time to recover.

We want to thank all marshals and medical staff for their support this week, and of course, thank you to all the fans for their well wishes. Your support is truly cherished.”

The team had been set to campaign their #83 Lamborghini in a 21 cr Bronze Cup class, Sarah Bovy was due to again race alongside her regular WEC team-mates Michelle Gatting and Rahel Frey.

The Withdrawal of the #83 sees the entry now total 66 cars including 20 in Bronze cup.
