CSA Racing Audi Leads The Way In Pre-Qualifying

WRT the best of the bunch in Pro, Tuck puts Kessel quickest in Bronze Cup

Arthur Rougier was fastest in Pre-Qualifying at the 24 Hours of Spa aboard the Gold Cup #111 CSA Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

Rougier set a 2:15.330, marginally slower than Lucas Auer’s Free Practice benchmark.

Charles Weets (#32 Team WRT BMW) was second overall, and quickest in Pro, ahead of Marco Mapelli (#163 Grasser Lamborghini) and David Pittard (#34 Walkenhorst Aston Martin).

Ben Tuck was quickest in the Bronze Cup for Kessel Racing, whilst Aurelien Panis (#10 Boutsen VDS) and Jordan Love (#888 Triple Eight JMR) put Mercedes-AMG’s to the top of the Silver Cup and Pro-Am classes respectively.

All 66 cars completed a timed lap, with 52 of them going quicker than the 2023 pole time as the recent track resurfacing continues to provide improved pace.

The session ended early under the sole Red Flag, after the #38 Haas RT Audi and #63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini stopped separately out on track with a puncture.

The #61 EBM Porsche spent extended time in the pits, as the team continues to fight a clutch issue which flared up during the parade yesterday.

Track action continues with Qualifying at 20:35 local time, which will determine the 20 cars that will contest tomorrow’s Superpole. Each driver will compete in a single 15-minute session, with the average time determining which 20 cars progress and set positions 21 back.
