Le Mans Cup & Ligier European Series Calendars Confirmed

First trips to Silverstone for both series in support of the ELMS

The 2025 calendars for the ELMS-supporting Michelin Le Mans Cup and Ligier European Series have been set and include a visit to Silverstone for the first time.

The other venues are unchanged from the 2024 season, with events in Barcelona, Le Castellet, Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps and Portimão.

All rounds next season will be in support of the European Le Mans Series, except for the races as Le Mans.

The Le Mans Cup teams will take part in two 55 minutes Road To Le Mans races on the full 13.6km La Sarthe circuit ahead of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans. Though there is an asterisk and ‘to be confirmed’ note on the calendar for the races at La Sarthe.

The six round, seven race series will begin in Barcelona, with the Collective Test on April 2nd followed by Round 1 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Saturday 5th April.

There will then be two events held in France, with Round 2 at Le Castellet at the start of May, followed by Road to Le Mans in June.

After the summer break, the MLMC returns in August for Round 4 at Spa-Francorchamps, followed by the first ever Michelin Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone on the 13th September. The season finale will, once again, be held at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal on Sunday 19th October.

In 2025 the Le Mans Cup will shift to a three-class format, with the addition of a category for teams competing without a Bronze driver.

“Since 2016 the Michelin Le Mans Cup has provided teams and drivers with a very important step on the endurance racing ladder that leads to the ELMS, FIA World Endurance Championship and, ultimately, the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Frédéric Lequien, general director, Le Mans Endurance Management (LMEM).

“The 2025 calendar sees five of the six events retained from the 2024 season, that allows LMEM to work with the circuits to build the events and attract a good fanbase.

“We are extremely pleased to be taking the Michelin Le Mans Cup to Silverstone for the first time since the series started in 2016 and this will allow the British fans that don’t travel to Le Mans the opportunity to see the MLMC in action on one of the most challenging circuits in the world.

“The 2025 Michelin Le Mans Cup promises to be an exciting season for all involved.”

As for the Ligier European Series, its sixth season will continue to run with its condensed two-day format with three hours and 40 minutes of track time.

The schedule features six rounds of two races each, on the same weekends as the MLMC and the ELMS (except the Le Mans Heat).

At La Sarthe, the teams will race during the Le Mans Test Day on the 8th of June.

“LMEM is once again extremely pleased to have the Ligier European Series as part of the support package for the European Le Mans Series in 2025,” Lequien said.

“The LES has provided an important first step for many drivers and teams into endurance racing. 2022 LES Champion Gillian Henrion, who won the MLMC LMP3 title in 2023, will be fighting for the ELMS LMP3 title in Portimão with Team Virage and there is no better example of how important the Ligier European Series is to a driver’s career.”

The LES will continue to run with two categories, for the JS2 R and JS P4, and a substantial prize pot for the champions.

The JS P4 champion(s) will recieve money equivalent to €150,000 to put towards a driver in in the MLMC the following season behind the wheel of a Ligier JS P320. The JS2 R winner(s) will receive €100,000 to compete in the Ligier European Series the following season in a JS P4.
