Heart Of Racing Confirms GTP Aston Martin Valkyrie For 2025 IMSA Season

Plus returning GTD class Vantage

The Heart of Racing Team has confirmed 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship entries in both the GTP and GTD classes.

2025 will see the team make its GTP debut with the new-for-2025 Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH in North America, with a single car entry for the #23 car.

In GTD meanwhile, the #27 effort will return for what will be a sixth season with Aston Martin GT machinery for the squad.

Heart of Racing is set to confirm entries too in the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, again with Aston Martin.

The driver line-up for both Heart of Racing efforts will be confirmed at a later date.

Before then though the team is fielding a pair of Vantage GT3s in GTD Pro in this weekend’s IMSA season finale, Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

Its full-season #23 car and driver Ross Gunn are in real contention for the GTD Pro Teams’ and Drivers’ titles, with the effort bolstered in Georgia by the addition for the second consecutive race of the #027 car.

“We are excited to see what the 2025 season holds,” says Heart of Racing team principal, Ian James.

“It’s a bit crazy to look back and see where we started versus where we are currently.

“We ultimately decided on a GTD entry as it compliments our all-pro GTP programme and serves as a useful rung on the ladder. This week though, we are set on chasing the GTD PRO championship with the #23 team. Once the season ends, we will put our full focus on 2025.”
