Daytona Sanctioned Test, Prototype Teams Ready

The GTP and LMP2 runners that will test this week in Daytona at the IMSA Sanctioned Test are set up in the paddock and preparing for track action.

DSC took a quick tour of the paddock on arrival at the speedway today and caught a glimpse of all the GTP and LMP2 cars present.

First up was the Heart of Racing Valkyrie AMR-LMH, which is making its official IMSA debut this week as a GTP-class car.

Next door for the event is the SC63 entered by Lamborghini Iron Lynx. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the programme’s future, the car has arrived liveried with its usual Iron Lynx/CSR branding (featured) and Matteo Cairoli, Roman Grosjean and Andrea Caldarelli’s names here.

Porsche was up next, both Penske 963s sporting a full factory livery here. Below is the #7 with Julien Andlauer’s decals on a factory car for the first time.

It’s the same for BMW Team RLL. Notably, the #24 car below only has Philipp Eng’s name and flag on the door. The team hasn’t yet revealed its 2025 GTP driver roster. The sister car meanwhile, has no names on the car.

The Cadillac V-Series.Rs from Wayne Taylor Racing and Action Express Racing meanwhile, are on-site in bare carbon.

The Acura ARX-06s from MSR are also here running in black, but with coloured highlights.

From the LMP2 contingent, the Tower Motorsports and #2 United Autosports ORECAs are also in bare carbon. The Canadian-flagged Tower 07 features the names of full-season drivers John Farano and Cadillac factory driver Sébastien Bourdais, as well as endurance additions Sebastian Alvarez and Job van Uitert.
