AWA has announced that Marvin Kirchhöfer will be the fourth driver of the team’s #13 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R in the 63rd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The McLaren factory GT driver will share the car with Orey Fidani, the recipient of the 2024 Bob Akin Award, full-season co-driver Matt Bell, and Michelin Endurance Cup driver Lars Kern.
AWA is entering its second season as a Corvette Racing customer team. Beginning the season with two Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs, the pairing of Fidani and Bell recorded a best finish of fifth in GTD at Road America, and scored four top-six finishes in the #13 car.
Fidani also won the Bob Akin Award as the top-ranked Bronze driver in GTD this past season, and accepted his automatic invitation to this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans that will see himself and AWA taking part in the Grand Prix d’Endurance as part of the LMGT3 category.
Their new Rolex 24 specialist Kirchhöfer is coming off a full-season campaign with Pfaff Motorsports, where the orange and black-plaid McLaren (720S) GT3 EVO scored two runner-up finishes in GTD Pro at Laguna Seca and Watkins Glen. Kirchhöfer and Oliver Jarvis ended the year seventh in the GTD Pro Drivers’ Championship.
The German driver also ran part-time in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for Garage 59 this past season.
