Vaxiviere Tops FP2

Matthieu Vaxiviere set the pace in a steamy Free Practice 2 on Friday afternoon at Sepang, the #83 AF Corse Oreca pilot set a 1:52.924, edging out the #3 DKR Engineering car of Laurents Hörr.

Nicky Catsburg (#24 Nielsen Racing), Tristan Vautier (#30 RD Limited), Alex Quinn (#20 Algarve Pro Racing), Vlad Lomko (#22 Proton Competition), Malthe Jakobsen (#25 Algarve Pro Racing), Jeremy Clark (#50 AF Corse and fastest Bronze in the session), Tom Dillmnn (#11 Proton Competition) and Louis Delétraz (#91 Pure Racing) completed the top 10 in the session.

In LMP3, Douwe Dedecker led the way in the #34 Inter Europol Competition Ligier with a 2:03.051, edging ut the best effort from RLR MSport’s Ian Aguilera.

Veteran racer Stephane Leveret was third fastest in the session and fastest of the Bonze-rated contingent in his #35 Ultimate Ligier.

It was a Bronze-ranked driver topping the times in GT in the afternoon session as Rinat Salikhov took the #81 Winward Racing AMG around in 2:05.285 ahead of Ben Tuck’s #74 Kessel Ferrari and double Asian LMS Champion Max Wiser’s #28 AF Corse 296.

Next up is Qualifying for both of the weekend’s races on Saturday Morning from 9:50 a.m. local time with the first race following on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm.
