Nielsen Racing has announced a major driver signing this morning, securing the services of Cadillac GTP driver Filipe Albuquerque for its 2025 European Le Mans Series campaign.
The highly experienced former ELMS and FIA WEC class champion will share the team’s #24 LMP2 class ORECA with Alpine Hypercar driver Ferdinand Habsburg. The third driver for the #24 will be revealed soon.
“I am super happy to join Nielsen Racing, the team is really motivated and they are putting a lot of effort to be the benchmark in 2025,” Albuquerque said.
“Joining Ferdinand Habsburg, he won the ELMS in the past as well, so I think that is enough to make us a strong candidate for the title. I love all the tracks of the ELMS calendar, so I just can’t wait to get it going.”
With this deal Nielsen Racing will become the third team Albuquerque has driven for in the ELMS, after JOTA Sport and United Autosports. It will also see him take on a full ELMS season since his LMP2 title win in 2020 with United Autosports.
This ELMS venture will run in parallel with his full IMSA GTP campaign with Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing.
