The opening round of the 2025 FIA WEC Qatar 1812KM is set to start two hours later than originally planned.
The race at the Lusail circuit will now start at 14:00 local time on Friday, February 28th and run until midnight.
“In recognition of cultural and religious considerations, and in light of the race timing relative to the start of Ramadan, a decision has been made to adjust the start time of the Qatar 1812 KM.” The FIA WEC said in a short statement released to the media.
“We deeply appreciate the understanding and support of our teams, fans, and stakeholders as we make these adjustments in respect of the host community’s values.”
