Reigning LMGT3 champions Iron Lynx has announced Fabian Schiller in their #63 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 for the 2025 European Le Mans Series campaign.
The Mercedes-AMG Motorsport driver, will co-drive the #63 Mercedes-AMG with Martin Berry, Lorcan Hanafin in Iron Lynx’s sole entrant in the LMGT3 category.
The team initially announced Gustavo Menezes, who last appeared in sportscar racing with Peugeot’s Hypercar programme in 2023, before taking Schiller on-board. Menezes though had privately confirmed to DSC that he was unlikely to feature in the full-season line-up.
Schiller, the platinum-graded driver, said: “I’m excited to join Iron Lynx for the ELMS championship in LMGT3.
“It will be great to help the team in the journey with the Mercedes-AMG LMGT3, making sure that the first year is going to be successful already.
“I feel we have a solid lineup and it’s a great championship with a lot of nice tracks, so I’m looking forward to the start of the 2025 season.”
Whilst the LMGT3 category enters its second year having succeeded the LMGTE formula, this year marks the beginning of Iron Lynx’s Mercedes-AMG partnership since splitting with Lamborghini at the end of 2024.
Iron Lynx claimed the 2024 LMGT3 Drivers’ and Teams’ championships having earned a third LMGT3 slot for the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours on 14-15 June alongside their two FIA World Endurance Championship entrants.
Hanafin, piloting Mercedes machinery for the first time, added: “I am really pleased to be joining Iron Lynx and teaming up with Martin and Fabian to challenge for the 2025 ELMS championship.
“Iron Lynx are an exceptional outfit with plenty of experience, I can’t wait to get the season started in Barcelona.”
Berry concluded: “I’m hugely excited to be joining such a high-caliber team in Iron Lynx as we aim for the 2025 ELMS championship.
“With the Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 and top guns like Lorcan and Fabian, we’re ready to put up a strong fight.”
The ELMS season will commence with the Prologue on 31 March-1 April in Barcelona Catalunya, followed by the 4 Hours of Barcelona season-opener on 6 April.
