For the first time in a long time, maybe ever – DSC is on location at Laguna Seca Raceway!
Of course, the TireRack.com Monterey SportsCar Championship is IMSA’s first two-hour, 40-minute sprint of the season – and this is also RJ’s first trip to the circuit.
Trust me, I’ve driven many renditions of Laguna Seca in sims and video games – you never appreciate how steep the Corkscrew is, from the ascent to the drop, until you’ve walked along it in person!

There’s some new looks for cars up and down the paddock, starting of course, with Roxy replacing Rexy at AO Racing.
Much has been written about Rexy’s recent winning streak, but will Roxy be able to secure her first win – and more importantly, keep Laurin Heinrich and Klaus Bachler at the top of the GTD PRO standings?
Roxy’s teeth look sharp enough for the task!

Pfaff Motorsports applied the finishing touches to their special Motul throwback livery that will race this weekend.
The Canadian team has been adjusting to its new partnership with Lamborghini, and having Squadra Corse factory drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli behind the wheel.
As of Sebring, Pfaff also has a new Strategist for the #9 car – Sean Heckman, of Magnus Racing and Dinner with Racers fame.
We will say that is another new-looking GTD PRO car in the field, from DragonSpeed. There have been teasers posted by the team and drivers Albert Costa & Giacomo Altoe, but the full reveal will have to wait until tomorrow!

Not a new look but a pleasant surprise, to see Triarsi Competizione running its second car, the #023 Ferrari 296 GT3, for a sprint round.

After Charles Scardina’s heavy crash into the concrete barriers at Sebring, the tub of the car was still intact – and it’s been fully repaired, including a replacement of the front frame rails, for Onofrio Triarsi and Riccardo Agostini to challenge this weekend’s race.
Porsche becomes official car of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca
On Monday, Porsche Cars North America announced that it will become the official car of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
The new sponsorship will also see the opening of a new Porsche Driving Centre (PDC) at the Laguna Seca circuit in 2026, and Porsche supporting Friends of Laguna Seca in its efforts to revitalise the raceway and its surrounding recreation areas.

A Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS – in a special livery paying homage to the Penske Porsche RS Spyders of the late 2000s – will serve as the official pace car for the event.
Filgueiras gets last-minute Pilot Challenge ride

Lone Star Racing’s GTD Michelin Endurance Cup driver Eric Filgueiras will be back behind the wheel of a Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport this weekend as he’s been named as a substitute driver at Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSports.
Filgueiras will replace Mikey Taylor, who is departing to be there for the birth of his child.
“I’m excited and honoured to have the opportunity to drive with Unitronic JDC MotorSports, and I have to thank Mikey Taylor for the call to sub in for him. I’m looking forward to getting rolling with Chris and the entire team – and happy to be back with the Porsche brand,” Filgueiras said in a statement issued today.
His two Pirelli GT4 America championships were won in the cockpit of the Porsche GT4 platform in 2022 and 2024.
Ford CEO Farley back in Mustang Challenge
Among the 20 entries in the second round of the Mustang Challenge is Ford Motor Company CEO, Jim Farley, driving the #17 Competition Motors Mustang Dark Horse R.
Farley raced in the inaugural Mustang Challenge event at Mid-Ohio last year, and will also be racing in the series’ Le Mans Invitiational at the Circuit de la Sarthe on 13/14 June.

As the series makes its first visit to Laguna Seca, reigning series champion Robert Noaker has won the last three Mustang Challenge races, dating back to his title-clinching win at the 2024 Indianapolis finale. He currently has a 140-point lead over series newcomer Devin Anderson, who finished second in both Sebring races two months ago.
Mustang Challenge’s races are Saturday at 8:50 AM and Sunday at 8:30 AM.

41 entries for Super Trofeo North America

Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America is also back in action this weekend with 41 cars – 8 in Pro, 12 in Pro-Am, 11 in Am, and 10 in LB Cup.
Leading the way are Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson in the #1 Wayne Taylor Racing Huracán ST EVO2 which swept the Sebring double-header. ANSA Motorsports’ #4 car swept both Laguna Seca races last year with the lineup of Kiko Porto and Nico Jamin.
This year ANSA returns with Enzo Geraci, and Colin Queen, whose story you can read about on DSC.
Both Super Trofeo races start Saturday at 4:45 PM (following IMSA qualifying) and Sunday at 9:35 AM.
