The entry list for the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours has been published today, with 141 cars set to take on the gruelling Nordschleife endurance race.
This year, the race is being held over the weekend between the Le Mans 24 Hours and Spa 24 Hours, making it a logistical challenge for key GT3 teams and manufacturers. Despite this, the SP9 class has attracted a strong field of 27 cars representing eight makes.
The class is headlined by defending winner Scherer Sport PHX, which brings a pair of cars to the race in pursuit of an eighth overall win. It will run an Audi R8 sporting #1 for Christopher Haase, Luca Ludwig and Markus Winkelhock and a Porsche, the #16 911 GT3 R 992 for Laurens Vanthoor, Patric Niederhauser and Ricardo Feller.
Three additional Audis will take on the race, with JUTA Racing and equipe vitesse also operating R8s.
Porsche, meanwhile, can rely on strength in numbers with seven cars entered. Beyond Scherer Sport PHX’s car, Manthey EMA’s #911 Grello machine looks to be a contender. Kevin Estre Ayhancan Guvan and Thomas Preining will share it.
Dinamic GT, Hankook Competition, Black Falcon Team EAE and Falken Motorsports add to the attack, with Falken bringing a pair of 911s once again.
Julien Andlauer, Nico Menzel, Sven Müller and Alessio Picariello will drive the #33, while Dorian Boccolacci, Tim Heinemann, Dennis Marschall and Morris Schuring have been called up to race the #44, as the Japanese tyre brand pushes to claim its first overall win.
Aston Martin and Lamborghini are also well represented, with four cars apiece. The trio of Walkenhorst Vantage AMRs and the pair of ABT Huracans stand out.
Ford will have a substantial presence too. Three Mustang GT3s will be in the fight courtesy of HRT Ford Performance, which is looking to add another major endurance victory to the young car’s growing CV.
As for the other German makes, BMW and Mercedes-AMG, they will be pushing for victory with fewer cars than we are used to.
Mercedes-AMG will have three AMG GT3s in the race, two of which are fielded by GetSpeed, and BMW will rely on just a single M4 GT3 EVO from ROWE Racing stacked with factory drivers (Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, Raffaele Marciello and Kelvin van der Linde).
2023’s winning make, Ferrari, also has just one car entered, a 296 GT3 from Realize Kondo Racing.
Among the list of drivers in the top class, 10 will contest the race at Le Mans on the previous weekend. All are factory drivers, including Maxime Martin and Luca Stolz from AMG, Mattia Drudi from Aston Martin, Augusto Farfus, Raffaele Marciello and Kelvin van der Linde from BMW, Laurens Vanthoor, Julien Andlauer and Kevin Estre from Porsche and Dennis Olsen from Ford. Seven of those will also take on the Spa 24 a week later too.
In addition to SP9 (GT3), there are plenty of other battles to look forward to from the other classes.
SP 10 for GT4 cars sees models from Aston Martin, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, and Toyota come together to form a 10-car class. Cup 2 and Cup 3 for Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992s and Cayman GT4 Clubsports are also healthy, with 10 plus for both.
Dörr Motorsport will also give the McLaren Artura Trophy Evo its N24 debut in SP 8T, and Lynk & Co is making its very first appearance, becoming the 68th make to take on the race. The Lynk & Co 03 TCR #827 will be entered by Fancy by Teamwork Motorsport in the AT3 class.
And, finally, in keeping with the race’s longstanding tradition of accepting cars from across the motorsport spectrum, the Dacia Logan from Ollis Garage is entered in SP 3T.
It will fight against a VW Beetle RSR from White Ange for Fly and Help, a full factory Hyundai Elantra N Cup, a BMW M2 run by FK Performance, a Mini from Bulldog Racing and a Sharky Racing-operated VW Golf.
The 2025 N24 will run from the 19th to 22nd of June, it also doubles as the second round of the 2025 Intercontinental GT Challenge.
