British GT Schedule Reduced To Six Events For 2026

Second Donington Park round axed

The 2026 British GT Championship calendar has been released today by SRO at its annual Spa press conference.

Next year’s schedule will see the teams compete at six race meetings instead of seven, with the championship set to visit Donington Park once, rather than twice.

“We have taken into account the economic environment by reducing the calendar by one event,” SRO boss Stephane Ratel said at the conference. “We will have six instead of seven.”

This calendar revamp means that the season opener will be held later than in 2025 and take place at Silverstone rather than Donington Park. That meeting will run over April 25/26.

The championship then heads to Oulton Park for 23/25 May before its annual visit to continental Europe for a race at Spa-Francorchamps on June 20/21.

Snetterton hosts the fourth weekend of the season on August 15/16, ahead of the final stretch, which will include trips to Donington Park on 05/06 September and Brands Hatch for the finale on 26/27 September.

The individual race formats have not yet been confirmed by SRO.
