37 Cars for GT3 Revival Grid

Amongst the Series taking centre-stage at this weekend’s Silverstone Festival is the MRL (Motor Racing Legends) GT3 Legends, a Series which welcomes cars from the first decade of the GT3 era.

A fabulous 37 car entry has been gathered for the Silverstone event covering no fewer than 10 different GT3 marques and 13 different base models.

Amongst the better known names on the driver roster are Rob Huff (#17 2012 BMW Z4 GT3), Andrew Jordan (#1 Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06R), Alex Brundle and Max Lynn (#5 2012 Nissan GT-R GT3), ex British GT pairing Craig Wilkins and Aaron Scott (#8 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo GT3), historic racers Shaun Lynn and Jamie Constable (#13 2012 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3), ex FIA WEC pairing Bonamy Grimes and (still not fully retired) Johnny Mowlem (#16 2014 Ferrari 458 GT3), Nigel Mustill and Craig Dolby (#39 2012 Chevrolet Camaro GT3), 2019 British GT Champion Graham Davidson in his 2014 Aston Martin V12 Vantage, Alex Buncombe (#48 2013 Nissan GT_R GT3), Olly Bryant (#79, 2013 BMW Z4 GT3), Nigel Greensall (#89 2010 Porsche 997 GT3R), Phil Quaife (#99 2012 BMW Z4 GT3) and Dirk Adork (#888 2015 BMW Z4 GT3).

DSC was on hand on Wednesday at Silverstone for the pre-meeting test that saw the vast majority of the grid on track plus a couple of ‘extras’ that will race later this year.

The grid looks superb with some old friends of both the human and automotive varieties joined by some interesting oddities including an ex Super Taikyu Nissan updated to 2015 spec for Team RJN owner Simon Watts and a super rare Lambda Performance built Ford GT GT3.

Series founder Shaun Lynn was on track in the morning in his ex TF Sport Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3.
