4H Silverstone To Start Early

Fans are being instructed to take their seats early due to the threat of heavy rain during the afternoon

A key change has been made to the ELMS race day schedule at Silverstone by the event organisers.

Tomorrow’s Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone will start an hour earlier than initially scheduled, at 11:00 am instead of midday.

With a sizable crowd expected for the race, the organisers have decided to move the start time as they feel it will increase the chance of the majority of the race being held in dry conditions and improve the experience for spectators trackside for the first ELMS race at the British track since 2019.

The Met Office forecast at the time of writing predicts a 90-95 per cent chance of heavy rain from 14:00 to 20:00. By moving the race start to 11:00, the opening hours of the race should avoid the worst of the weather front.
