Trulli, Morris, Kristensen & Meguetounif Headline Rookie Test Entry

The first version of Sunday’s post-season European Le Mans Series and Le Mans Cup Rookie Test entry list has been published today. It contains 37 cars across LMP2, LMP3 and LMGT3, and 78 drivers.

There are plenty of familiar names from across the ELMS, Le Mans Cup and Ligier European Series paddocks, as well as young drivers from other areas of the sport looking to try their hand in an LMP or GT3 car.

2021 F4 UAE Champion Enzo Trulli will be testing for Algarve Pro Racing, the 21-year-old Italian, the son of former F1 racer Jarno Trulli, will get valuable track time in an LMP2 ORECA-Gibson with the Portuguese team.

2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR Vice Champion Bryson Morris is another notable name. The 21-year-old American, who won the TCR class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2024, will also test in LMP2 with APR.

Elsewhere, current FIA F2 racer Sami Meguetounif will test with IDEC Sport in the #18 ORECA, with the 21-year-old from Marseille getting a taste of LMP2 with the French team.

F1 Academy racer Chloe Chong will test an LMP3 car on Sunday with the 18-year-old British racer getting behind the wheel of the championship winning #17 CLX Motorsport Ligier-Toyota. The Swiss outfit will also run its #47 ORECA, for the team’s 2025 LMP3 ELMS champions Adrian Closmenil and Theodor Jensen and Eurointernational racer Ian Aguilera.

The Al Qubaisi family will be testing the Ligier JS P325 with Team Virage, with 24 Hours of Le Mans LMGTE AM podium finisher Khalid Al Qubaisi testing with daughters Hamda and Amna for the Polish flagged team. The two F1 Academy race winners have raced in the LES this year with Team Virage.

There is a further family connection on the entry list, with ELMS race winner Jonas Ried testing both the Proton Competition LMP2 ORECA that he drives in the ELMS and the team’s Porsche 911 alongside his 18-year-old brother Lenny (who will also run in High Class Racing’s #49 Ligier P3). The pair will share the ORECA with 79-year-old Dom Bastien, the oldest ever Le Mans 24 Hours starter.

Tom Kristensen’s nephew Oscar, a race winner in ADAC GT4 Germany, is also listed, aboard Racing Spirit of Leman’s #31 Ligier LMP3. And Andrew Rackstraw, the newly-minted Porsche Carerra Cup GB Champion, will also feature in LMP3, running in High Class’ Ligier.

There 18 LMP3 cars total, 14 Ligiers, three Duqueines and a single Ginetta. Of note, Porsche legend Sascha Massen’s son Montego features for DKR in the #4 G61-LT-P325 along with Leo-Livius Arne Weber and Wyatt Brichacek.

In amongst the six LMGT3 cars listed, F3 podium finisher Matias Zagazeta will test in a Ferrari with Spirit of Race and Kessel regular Takeshi Kimura will steer Racing Spirit of Leman’s Aston Martin.
