Last week saw the 2025 PMW Expo take place in Cologne, Germany, as over 200 exhibitors took to the floor across the two-day event.
Across these exhibitors, plenty of announcements were made and products showcased, including some of the highlights below:
Cosworth Reveals GT Steering Wheel
Cosworth launched its first GT Steering Wheel, alongside the latest addition to its Centaurus Power Distribution Module family, the Centaurus 3.
The GT steering wheel is based on the CCW Mk3, which is utilised in Hypercar and IndyCar, with headline features including a motorsport-first fully configurable light bar, as well as full Cosworth software integration.
Paul Newby, Managing Director of Cosworth Electronics, said: “Both the GT Steering Wheel and Centaurus 3 are engineered for the high-performance motorsport market, where reliability, adaptability and innovation are paramount.
“While the GT wheel is fully configurable over CAN for broad compatibility, its true potential is unlocked when paired with Centaurus 3 or other Cosworth systems like Badenia and Antares. Our new user interface delivers seamless, intuitive integration across our ecosystem which streamlines setup and enhances driver interaction to create a unified, intelligent experience for race teams.
“The expansion of our product portfolio for the GT market marks a significant milestone for Cosworth’s motorsport strategy. Taking the knowledge and learnings from Formula Racing, Prototypes and Hypercar program, we have created a solution which combines our passion for precision engineering, driver-focussed design and our cutting-edge steering wheel technology.”
Centaurus 3, meanwhile, is targeted at mid-tier and junior race series, and integrates advanced monitoring, data-logging and self-protection features.
“Centaurus 3 is a gateway to the Centaurus family,” Newby explained. “It brings our premium hardware to cost-sensitive projects without compromising on performance. By focusing on the essentials, Centaurus 3 delivers targeted capabilities that meet the demands of competitive motorsport head-on.”
Mega-Line presents next-generation e-clutch actuator
Mega-Line presented its new e-clutch actuator, which offers ultra-fast actuation speeds of under 100ms and exceptional durability. An evolution from the company’s existing clutch-by-wire architecture, the new design features high-frequency operation, anti-stall functionality and compatibility with H-pattern gearboxes, and is design for demanding categories including GT3 and Hypercar.
Conflux shows off heat exchanger used in Pagani hypercar
Conflux Technology showcased its advanced 3D-printed heat exchanger, as featured in the transmission of Pagani’s latest hypercar, the Utopia.
Developed with Pagani and Xtrac, the custom cartridge heat exchanger delivers a 30% increase in heat rejection, maintaining thermal balance and performance under extreme conditions. Integrated into the bespoke 7-speed transmission, Conflux’s additive manufacturing solution supports the V12’s immense power while remaining lightweight, demonstrating the combination of cutting-edge thermal management and precision engineering.
Helix unveils integrated electric drive units
Helix showed off how its electric drive units, proven in Formula 1, Formula E and the VolksWagen ID.R, offer high power density and cost advantages for high-performance EVs. The brand has combined motors, invertors and transmissions into a single plug-and-play system, transforming EV performance and manufacturing efficiency.
Nikon SLM Solutions spotlights metal 3D printing for automotive
Nikon SLM Solutions, a global provider of integrated AM systems, showcased its latest advances in metal additive manufacturing. The company’s high-speed systems produce precision-engineered components, at build rates of 1000ccm/h, with examples demonstrating metal 3D metal printing displayed at this year’s Expo.
Italtecnica unveils new engine with excellent power-to-weight performance
Italtecnica revealed its latest engine, the 6.7-litre naturally aspirated Orion V12. Weighing under 200kg, it produces 850hp at 8,500rpm in Euro 6 form and over 900hp at 9,500rpm for track use, with a redline above 10,000rpm. An advanced intake design, variable timing, and lightweight construction have all contributed to its high performance whilst ensuring it meets emissions standards.
“We chose to unveil the Orion V12 at PMW because it’s an international benchmark – not only in motorsport but also in the hypercar sector. Our goal is to reach as many interested people as possible,” said Danilo Brossa, technical director of the Italtecnica testing department.
Marelli showcases e-axle system for elite motorsport
Marelli, which won two innovation awards at the 2024 PMW Expo, presented its Racing Electrical Axle (REA) at the event this year. The fully integrated electric axle system combines a direct oil-cooled motor generator unit, EDI power pack motor control unit, single-ratio GBX reducer with active differential and advanced dual cooling system, to deliver exceptional power density and efficiency.
HP Turbo presents high-performance diesel turbocharger
HP Turbo displayed the GTD35-900VR, its latest high-performance diesel turbocharger. Evolving from G to GTD technology, this turbo delivers over 500hp, with OEM reliability and motorsport-grade performance, with it designed for the 1.9 TDI platform but adaptable to other projects due to its modular construction.
PWR displays heat exchanger portfolio
Cooling system manufacturer PWR showcased its expertise in tube and fin and bar and plate heat exchangers, including 2D-profiled and free-form designs.
Motion Applied launches rebrand
The company formerly known as McLaren Applied launched its rebrand at the Expo, with a wide range of products on display. These included its latest TSW-700 steering wheel, next-generation Formula 1 ECU, NASCAR’s 2026 electronics platform and live analytics platform.
Motion Applied’s Head of Business Development Sam Guest also featured in a roundtable discussion about the Mission H24 hydrogen prototype project, with the company contributing multiple elements to the programme.
AVL Racetech presents go RACE simulator
AVL Racetech showcased its new professional driving simulator, go RACE, which is targeted towards smaller teams. The aim is to fill the gap between super-professional simulators, and mass-market sim racing products.
One of the key focuses of the tool was to make it simple for engineers to use, with AVL Racetech taking responsibility for the modelling aspect, allowing teams to focus on the variables they can control in real life.
Industry Leaders Recognised At 2025 PMW Awards
The PMW Expo plays host to the annual PMW Awards, which are judged live on the opening evening of the show. This year saw seven awards handed out.

The 2026 PMW Expo will be held on 10th and 11th November 2026, with the event again taking place at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany
