The FIA World Endurance Championship teams will get the opportunity to test at Imola ahead of the first race weekend of the 2026 campaign, with the championship organisers rescheduling the annual pre-season Prologue to the 14th of April.
Originally, the Prologue was scheduled to take place in Qatar, but due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the test and the 1812KM race at the Lusail International Circuit have been postponed. The Prologue will now take place in Italy, and the race in Qatar is set to be moved to the second half of the season.
Due to that calendar change, the 6 Hours of Imola next month has become the 2026 curtain-raiser. The teams have been told today that on April 14th, the circuit will be open for two lengthy test sessions ahead of the race weekend. The morning session will be three and a half hours long, while the afternoon session will be four and a half hours long.
There will then be a gap before track action resumes on Friday, the 17th, with Free Practice 1 and 2. The race is set for Sunday, April 19th, after qualifying on Saturday, the 18th.
