Ligier’s JS2 R will take on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb event for the first time this year, with Bruce Jouanny and RD Limited.
Jouanny previously competed at Pikes Peak in 2024 aboard a Quarkus P3. The 47-year-old’s relationship with Ligier Automotive dates back almost two decades, when the Frenchman shared a Courage with Ligier Automotive CEO Jacques Nicolet at the 2007 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“Sharing a car at the 24 Hours of Le Mans creates unbreakable bonds,” Jouanny said. “Today, it is a tremendous source of pride to take on this challenge with a Ligier and represent the brand at Pikes Peak.”
The car will be run by five-time Pikes Peak winner Romain Dumas’ RD Limited operation, with technical support from Ligier.
For the event, the JS2 R will be lightened to 1040kg, and feature an adapted suspension setup, Michelin ultra-soft tyres, a short-ratio Sadev gearbox, and oxygenated fuel due to the altitude. The car will compete in the Pikes Peak Open class.
To prepare for Pikes Peak, the Ligier JS2 R will test at Pôle Mécanique d’Alès, and compete in the Col Saint-Pierre hill climb.
This is set to be the start of a multi-year Pikes Peak programme from Ligier, which is aiming to bring its JS2 RS to the event in 2027. The JS2 RS, which was launched last year, will compete in the GT2 European Series and Ultimate Cup Series this season.

The 2026 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be held on 21st June 2026.
