It was revealed by French newspaper Ouest France last month that the ACO is set to move many of its staff from their traditional home at the circuit.
The reasoning is simple: from a staff of around 100 at the turn of the 21st century, the increase in commercial activity and the birth of the FIA WEC and a functioning racing ladder have seen staff headcount grow to some 250 at present.
There are now active plans to move the core staff to a new 11000 sqm building that will be constructed on a site at the Technoparc, close to the South Entrance of the circuit on a site previously owned by the French State-owned railway company SNCF. The move should take place from late 2026 into early 2027.
The existing building, which dates back to 1966, will remain, with some offices included in a yet-to-be-announced plan.
Pre-COVID plans had the current Media Centre moving to the ACO building, and certainly some aspects of that plan appear to be back in prospect, including some upgrades for the current main grandstand facility (though not an increase in the number of permanent pit stalls.
More details look set to be confirmed at the traditional annual ACO press conference on Friday.
