As revealed a few weeks ago before the.opening round of the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series in Milan, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital have added four contemporary FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercars to the ever-growing roster of cars available to drive in the best-selling Gran Turismo 7.
By quite popular demand, the 2025 Ferrari 499P, BMW M Hybrid V8, Peugeot 9X8, and the 2024 Porsche 963 were added to the game in today’s update, all in immaculate detail, alongside a Porsche 911 Turbo S safety car much like the one used in the real-world FIA WEC.
They’ll join the 2021 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, which was the first contemporary Le Mans Hypercar added to Gran Turismo 7 back in May 2022 (and has since been succeeded in real life by the radically-overhauled TR010 Hybrid for 2026).
Along with these five new cars, five new in-game events will be added to the campaign mode, including three events for the “Gr.1 Prototype” category that will allow players to match this current crop of Hypercars against early-2010s and mid-2010s LMP1s, and Group C prototypes from the 1980s and early 1990s.
It’s the latest in a wave of refreshed racing cars added to GT7: New GT3 cars such as the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, Ferrari 296 GT3, and Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) have all been added to the game in previous updates.
Current WEC circuits such as Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps, Fuji, and Interlagos feature in the game, plus IMSA circuits Daytona, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, and Laguna Seca, and a variety of other beloved real-world and fantasy courses.
