The preparations for the new Toyota GR GT3 continue apace with an undisguised version of the car running for two days this week at a Destination Nürburgring trackday on the Nordschleife.
The car, which is due to replace the outgoing Lexus RC F GT3, was running with full technical support from TGR in Cologne. It came ahead of what is currently presumed to be a 2027 NLS/N24 programme alongside entries in LMGT3 in the FIA WEC and GTD/GTD Pro in IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship during the planned first season for the car after homologation.
Toyota’s NLS plans have been clear for some time, with Toyota Racing team principal Kamui Kobayashi and several emerging Japanese talents, joining KCMG in NLS and N24 race outings this season in a Mercedes-AMG GT3.
