Ahead of the launch of its replacement, the Porsche 911 GT4 R, next year, the final 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport has rolled off the production line, with the car destined to compete in this weekend’s Nürburgring Langstrecken-serie race.
Fielded for the first time by Porsche’s Team Heritage and Museum, in collaboration with Porsche Motorsport and Team 75 Bernhard, the car will be driven by ex-Porsche factory drivers Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister, as the #718.
It will be a first-ever GT4 race for both Bernhard and Bergmeister.
The #718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport will compete in the eight-car SP 10 class, for SRO GT4 machinery, as a Guest entry, and feature a special livery highlighting the Porsche Museum.
Rather than targeting class honours, the stated aim is simply to pay tribute to the Zuffenhausen-built mid-engined machine. After the six-hour race, the car will become the property of the Porsche Museum.
In total, Porsche has produced over 1500 GT4-spec Caymans after first entering the category in 2016.
The seventh round of this year’s Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen, will take place on Saturday 1st August 2026.
